Blue Child 04:54
Oh now I'm a Blue Child Floating through this galaxy Chasing the rising sun Am I the only one who sees? This pearl in my pocket is a gift to us Oh it's incredible how we all try to lock it up But I'm of the plain view We should use our minds for a better life But I'm alone I'm a lone soul Oh now I'm a Storm Child Riding this cold front right up on your doorstep Trickle through my bloodstream Cos we're all users; I'd never be a loser If to win it meant to reinvent this world This pearl in my pocket is a gift to us Oh it's incredible how we all try to lock it up But I'm of the plain view We should use our minds for a better life Now I'm a Blue Child Floating downstream Chasing the setting sun Am I the only one who sees? Hope I'm no lone I'm no lone soul

Ocean Eye 03:47
I landed on an island And now I'm planning for the long term All I ever thought I'd make was silence But now I'm cutting through the eye of the storm I'm raising up my sails And pushing off from my home town shore There's more to see than just this bay, and I know I'll be ok Cos everytime I sing it brings be back to the sea And the sea's in me The tide comes in and out when I breathe My dreams flow blue and green And the mirrors in my eyes become what they see And I'll always be the sea Every fleck of brown is an island or town I'll temporarily visit; know this vision is an image That I intend on living by the sea My friends all love music You know the world introduced me to them Cos they want to help me use it To teach us all the lessons we missed While we were being brainwashed You know there's truth below the waves that man makes With his bloody fist, know I've made it my mission To think with my own mind when I make my decision To live by the sea The tide comes in and out when I breathe My dreams flow blue and green And the mirrors in my eyes become what they see And I'll always be the sea Every fleck of brown is an island or town I'll temporarily visit; know this vision is an image That I intend on living by the sea

I know a girl, her name is Grace And her backyard is my nesting place She's got the look all over her pretty face That makes it so damn hard to pack my things and move away From her shoreline - gotta give me more time To realise it's not right to leave; I'm quite happy to see a little more of you Yeah you know that we ain't through Guess it's time to move on in Grace I know I'm gonna stay here Oh I remember you, first time I saw You chasing seals down the line at North Point You know that's all it took - Yeah love you hooked me good And now I'm starting to see there's only one place to be On her shoreline - gotta give me more time To realise it's not right to leave; I'm quite happy to see a little more of you Yeah you know that we ain't through Guess it's time to move on in Grace I know I'm gonna stay here

I'm up in the clouds And I know now That I'm in the right place at the right time Yeah it's showing me how This life gets better If we do allow Yes I'm gonna build me a house In the mountains Untouched by humans I see its white beauty So keep your tunnels; I'll have treetops This is the place for me Waterfalls tumble From snowy cradles Yes I'm gonna hang up my hammock In the heavens Find myself a valley view Better than your television I don't need shoes to climb these cliffs No they don't make a difference The earth feels stronger underneath me When I treed the trails in bare feet Yes I'm gonna find me a place to sleep In the mountains So you there in prison Are you listening to me? The cliffs and cascades are better than the fast lane No I'm not kidding you We have gotta get out there Out where the weather finds you free Yes I'm gonna take you for a walk In the mountains And then we'll have tea out on my porch In the mountains Yes I'm gonna build myself four walls In the mountains

Honig 08:58
It all begins in my garden It's like watering the seeds in my soul Oh if you want life, you can make it right here To be alone helps my body to grow Oh when the creepers climb and I hear the wind chimes I get that feeling I know burning from my insides It tells me, "Son, you stay young and prepare to get stung There's many bees out there, but if you treat them with love You'll get honey" On my toast I love honey As do the most of us, honey I'd love to boast that sweetness ain't a sin And you certainly don't need money If you want honey We're from the earth, or maybe further You know our seeds came from the same fruit Oh if we plant a tree, every one of us Would surely come to the same world view Cos when I feel the breeze and the rustling of the leaves I get that feeling I know is gonna make me complete It tells me, "Son, you stay young and prepare to get stung There's many bees out there, but if you treat them with love You'll get honey" In my tea I love honey Singing for freedom and honey You must agree, no matter where you've been You should know that you don't need money If you want honey

Windbreak 05:35
I'm walking south along the coast To nowhere As I see tree after tree Withering from the southerly That chills us to our bones Till they're so brittle now they're gone And I'm thinking to myself As I'm dying I'm starting to feel your warmth Even though you're made out of wood and weatherboard It's a simple life When all you want's to keep yourself together So I'll sit down with you friend And we'll outlast the weather The cliffs make a harsh place For a man to make a life Yet they nurse so many creatures Who seem to do just fine You can walk up to the edge And look on over But careful as a gust of wind can knock you down And the waves take you underground On down now I'm starting to feel your warmth Even though you're made out of wood and weatherboard It's a simple life When all you want's to keep yourself together So I'll sit down with you friend And we'll outlast the weather

about

The debut release from Blue Child Collective, this 6-track EP revolves largely around the ocean and consciousness of our natural environment, bringing listeners’ attention back to the moment and showing them an appreciation for the world around them through the clear and concise lyrical content running through the length of it.

Recorded in Karnup, WA, late 2014 in all live, full takes with minimal tracking to preserve the rawness of the production, this is a record that represents the purpose of Blue Child Collective from the outset, and one which embodies the energy they intend to continue harnessing and releasing through their music to come!

Many thanks to everyone who have helped us on our musical journey - you make it a real pleasure to be walking our paths with music in our hearts! Special thanks to Dave Brinsden for the use of your beautiful studio in the bush, Callum Ffoulkes for helping us track, Diggo for mastering it, Alice Rugg for the cover art and Andy Jary helping us collate it all!

Music is limitless energy. It's magic, growth, healing and love. However, in the words of Beethoven; “Don’t only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets, for it and knowledge can raise men to the divine.”
